My name is Michael "Shane" Thorson, and I am a VA-Accredited Claims Agent, combat veteran, Purple Heart recipient, retired law enforcement officer, and veteran advocate.

I began my military career as an enlisted Infantry Soldier and later earned a commission through Officer Candidate School, serving as an Armor Officer. Throughout more than 20 years of military service, I served in leadership positions as both a Noncommissioned Officer and Commissioned Officer, gaining firsthand experience leading Soldiers in peace and combat.

My assignments included service with the 101st Airborne Division, 18th Airborne Corps, 3rd Infantry Division, and Special Operations Command. I deployed to Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. These experiences shaped my commitment to service, leadership, and taking care of those who serve.

Following my military career, I continued serving my community in law enforcement, working as a police officer, detective, and member of federal task forces. Throughout my career, whether in uniform, law enforcement, ministry, or veteran advocacy, my focus has remained the same: helping people through difficult situations and ensuring they receive the support they deserve.

Like many veterans, I have personally navigated the VA disability system and understand the frustrations, delays, and challenges that can come with pursuing earned benefits. Those experiences motivated me to become a VA-Accredited Claims Agent and dedicate my efforts to helping fellow veterans and their families.

Today, I assist veterans with disability compensation claims, rating increases, supplemental claims, Higher-Level Reviews, Board Appeals, Aid & Attendance benefits, survivor benefits, and claim strategy. My goal is simple: to help veterans understand their options and pursue every benefit they have earned through their service and sacrifice.
